The saga continues

So it is now time to tell you about my other gorgeous, creative child. No it is not his birthday, that's in a few more months, jeesh people we do have sex at other times of the year :) But in fact he has created his own blog. He has decided to write and create more of the dragon brothers series. (If you have no idea what I'm talking about look at my earlier posts.) He has finished chapter 1 and would love for you all to take a look at it and give him some constructive criticism. I say constructive because he recently told me that he would like to be a writer one day, which of course made my heart leap with joy. So please take a moment out of your busy days for someone you love and check out his site. He would be more than thrilled to hear your opinions on it. Thanks.

birthday cake, yum

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes yesterday. I had an awesome day, well it was more like a birthday weekend. My favorite day has to be Friday, Chad got off work and we went surfing all morning. It was beautiful and I was scared shitless the whole time, the waves were huge, well huge for me. I am a South Florida longboarder for a reason, but nonetheless I caught a few (yeah me) and the day was great. I got to hang out all weekend with Chad and the kids, my kind of fun. I must say my favorite moment was when they brought me my birthday cake, and not because the cake was scrumptious, I had two pieces, yum. But, sorry the memory is for me to hold onto. I also changed my template, in case you didn't notice. I hope you like it, because I do and it's staying, until I get bored and change it again. Love to you all, and yes I realize what a lucky woman I am.

" You always think you will have time to make up for past mistakes, but that's not always the case with some people. Sometimes you never get that chance to redeem yourself, for whatever reason. Maybe that person has passed away, maybe you did something so unforgivable to them. Whatever the reason, what's done can never be undone. The funny thing is, that sometimes, maybe even most of the time, you don't even know you are causing such irreparable harm. It doesn't matter."

That's the gist of a conversation I had recently, it struck me as being so true.

I only ride longboards

So if this picture is making you wonder what the hell that guy is doing out in the water, well then you don't surf. For all of us who do, well yeah we're looking at the awesome marine life, a.k.a a humongous shark, but most of us are looking at that beautiful wave he's swimming in. Now that is my kind of day, knee-waist high, super glassy. God, doesn't that look like fun.
I can't wait to go surfing tomorrow. Anyone want to come?

Ashton Cole

All right, I hate to break this to you, but I just have to say I have the coolest kids in the world. I know you think your kids are, but not so. That's okay though you can have the second coolest kids ever, no shame in coming in second. It's all about how hard you try.

If you look to your left, you will see the ringleader of cool and today, yes folks today, is his 13th birthday. This kid is rocking. He has found the secret to happiness, don't ask me what it is, he doesn't blab his secrets like I do mine. It's just enough to be around him, to bask in the glow that is Ashton. He is so excited about his birthday, he is every year, but I think this year is different, this year he is a teenager. (Oh my god! I have a teenager. ) My son has grown into a very handsome, smart, and of course, happy young man. Could I want for anything more? The only thing I have ever wanted for my kids is for them to be happy, truly happy. With Ashton I didn't even have to try, he just is. I could go on and on about this kid, but I'd rather spend the day hanging out with him, being around him is good for your soul.

So to the ringleader of cool, I wish you a very Happy Birthday! Ashman, we love you and we are so proud of all the things you have accomplished for yourself. You are the light that shines bright in our household and I am so glad I get to be a part of you.
